Onivia signs a strategic agreement with Colt to boost connectivity in Spain

The partnership strengthens Colt’s network amid growing demand for capacity and accelerates the development of Onivia’s B2B strategy.

Onivia, a neutral and independent wholesale fibre operator, and Colt Technology Services (Colt), a global digital infrastructure company, have signed an agreement under which Colt will use Onivia’s dark fibre services to strengthen and expand its network infrastructure in Spain, supported by a neutral, scalable wholesale infrastructure designed to evolve in line with market needs.

The agreement covers the use of dark fibre access services across Onivia’s network in around 900 municipalities throughout Spain, including both provincial capitals and medium-sized municipalities. It reinforces Colt’s growth strategy in Spain, a key market for the company, at a time when network capacity has become essential to support the evolution of digital services. Onivia’s dark fibre will enable Colt to expand its infrastructure while retaining control over the design and evolution of its network and supporting the growing connectivity needs of businesses, service providers, data centres and cloud environments.

For Onivia, the agreement represents a further step forward in its advanced B2B connectivity strategy and strengthens its position as a leading neutral and independent wholesale network in Spain. Colt’s choice of dark fibre services reflects the value of a model capable of adapting infrastructure to the specific needs of each project, enabling operators and service providers to configure and manage their own networks while preserving their technological and commercial autonomy.
