On 27 October, we held the fourth edition of the #WholesaleSpain Forum<\/strong> in Madrid, organised by Onivia in collaboration with Nae. Under the theme \u201cBeyond Connectivity: From Fibre Leadership to New Growth Models\u201d, the event once again brought together industry representatives to reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing the Spanish telecommunications market.<\/p>\n Spain has established itself as an international benchmark in fibre optics thanks to an ecosystem characterised by investment, specialisation and collaboration among operators. A model in which neutral wholesale networks have played a fundamental role in fostering competition and facilitating access to connectivity.<\/p>\n From Infrastructure Leadership to Value Creation<\/strong><\/p>\n At this year’s edition, we presented the #WholesaleSpain 2026 report, focused on analysing the commercial reality of the Spanish market and exploring new avenues for growth in a sector that has reached a high level of maturity.<\/p>\n The study highlights that the next major challenge is no longer simply to expand infrastructure, but to unlock its full potential to generate greater value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Closing the gaps that still exist between territories, driving service adoption in rural areas and second homes, and developing new propositions beyond connectivity are among the opportunities identified.<\/p>\n Cross-Sector Convergence Opens Up New Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n The roundtable discussion, moderated by Joaqu\u00edn Guerrero, Director at Nae<\/strong>, featured Fernando Salda\u00f1a<\/strong> from Movistar Prosegur Alarmas; Zigor Diez<\/strong> from MAWDY (Mapfre Group); and Samuel Y\u00e1\u00f1ez<\/strong> from Naturgy.<\/p>\n The event broadened the conversation beyond telecommunications, focusing on the opportunities offered by convergence with sectors such as energy, insurance and security.<\/p>\n A reflection that reinforces the importance of developing new collaboration models and value propositions capable of meeting the needs of increasingly connected customers.<\/p>\n
